PROPOSAL 05 · PRACTICE ROUND · MILD COMPETITION

Two games, both open book. Every answer is somewhere on the site.

Proposal 05 on the main page is trivia night, on the theory that mild competition reveals character at a discount. This is the practice round. First, a crossword whose nineteen answers all come from the site, so the clues double as a reading list. Then a sort: the filters most dating profiles run silently, and where this one actually puts each. Your crossword progress is saved in your browser only and never reaches me. The sort keeps no score anywhere but on your screen.

The crossword

Words touch only where they cross, so there's no filler: nineteen answers, all house vocabulary. Tap a square and type; tap it again to switch direction. Check marks what's wrong, and Reveal is there for the answers you'd rather look up on the main page first.

      The dealbreaker sort

Twenty-six statements about a hypothetical her. For each one, say where the site files it. Three buckets, in the page's own words: Dealbreaker is one of the ten structural filters, a clean no-match. Preference means the page has a stated lean, for or against, and leaves you the call. Don't care is a filter most profiles run silently, switched off here and said out loud. Every answer links to the paragraph that decides it, so if you think the page is wrong you can argue with the page.

      If you'd rather just read

The crossword's answers are scattered across Who I Am, Before the Chuppah, the Glossary, and the Ring Policy. The sort is the Dealbreakers and Don't Care pages, with cameos from Proposals, the Age Range, and the Wedding. The whole site is the answer key. Think a clue or a verdict is wrong? The Feedback Clause covers games too.
